Muhammad Zunain Javed- National Champion (XD) 2020

Muhammad Zunain Javed was born on 29th November 1995 in Mamu Kanjan. Zain is a certified Account Technician. Initially he was interested in Football, however gradually his interest started to lean towards Badminton.

Zunain began to play the sport at the age of 15 in Etihad Badminton Club Mamu Kanjan. In the early days of his badminton career, he did not receive any professional guidance and could not play competitive badminton for the first 6 years of his career. Moving to Lahore in 2017 was like starting a new chapter in his life, as he met his mentor Atique Chaudary. According to Zunain, his Coach, Atique Chaudary, has played a major and vital role in his life. Throughout his ups and downs, Atique has been his supporter and his backbone. He was the one who saw talent in the youngster and invested in him.

Under the supervision of Atique Chaudary, Zunain made his debut in National Badminton at the age of 21. He pulled out a major upset in his first ever tournament, 2nd Shuhada -e- Army All Pakistan ranking tournament 2017. He (with Irfan Mehmood) beat the no. 3 seeds Murad/Hashir in the 1st Round and played till the Quarter Finals. This achievement was a big realisation for him, as he recognized his talent. With fiery enthusiasm and growing passion in Zunain, he decided to keep playing Badminton as well as bagging achievements.

Two years laters, he reached the semi finals (MD) of National Championship 2019. Unfortunately his partner, Aoun Abbas, got injured and they could not perform up to their potential. Due to this loss they could not qualify for Pakistan International series 2019. In the same year, he clinched a silver medal in Men's Doubles (with Muqeet Tahir) in All Pakistan Ranking tournament  2019 Islamabad. In the year 2020, Zunain stood on the podium (with Farzana Ali) as the Mixed Doubles National Champion.

According to Zunain Javed, in his 4 year professional career, his elder brother and Atique Chaudhary have played a big role of support in his life, always being there during tough times and have been there to support, for which he is very grateful.

He aims to represent his country on International Level and bag several medals for Pakistan.

As soon as his uncle was satisfied with his training, he allowed him to participate in national junior (u-12) , where he shocked everyone by winning both boys doubles (with Waqas Ahmed) and boys singles titles. He continued to dominate in juniors at national  level by becoming u-14 and u-18 champion in both categories. ...
