She started badminton at the age of 12 at Shahzad Club in her hometown under the supervision of Coach Baba g Salim. Zarina Waqar dominated the 'Junior' era in her early days. In the same year she represented Pakistan in BWF World Championship in Birmingham, England. 2 years later, she clinched 2 gold medals in Al Fajar Tournament in Iran.  In 1995, Zarina played against former Olympic Champion (1992), Susi Susanti, in the BWF World Championship at Switzerland. The next year, she won 2 gold medals in International Women Islamic Invitation Games Islamabad. In the same year she won a gold medal in WS and Team event in National Games. The 'Star girl of Pakistan (1994)' remained at the top spot in National Ranking (WS) from 1990-1997. According to Zarina, 1986-1996 was her 'Golden era' in which she bagged many of her career's major Badminton titles. In total Zarina Waqar is among few Pakistani Badminton players who won 52 Gold medals and out of 52, 8 of them are from International competitions. During her 24 year career span she trained under several Coaches: Baba g Salim, Fateh Ullah, Liaqat Ali, Zahid Maqbool & Chinese coaches, who not only trained her, but also supported them through every way possible. Moreover, her brother and husband played an important role in supporting her.

However, due to Breast Cancer in 2010, she was forced to leave professional badminton. Nonetheless, not even cancer could stop her from serving her country: she passed BWF Level 1 coaching course from Nepal.

Moreover, after completing BWF Level 2 Coaching Course (Malaysia), she decided to pass on her knowledge to the younger generation. She is currently working as a Coach in Directorate Punjab Sports Board.

As it is said, true warriors always keep fighting, and Zarina Waqar is a true warrior, and a pride of Pakistan Badminton.

Review of Yonex Nanoflare 270 Speed

The Yonex Nanoflare 270 Speed is a product of Yonex's latest series, Nanoflare , which was released in the year 2019. A resilient yet flexible graphite material, Toraycar M40 and Super HMG provide matchless power and stability for maximum shuttle acceleration. Its Nanocell Neo frame shape provides you with a greater sweet spot, allowing you to have a better chance of middling the shot. In my opinion, what distinguishes this racket from other models of Yonex is that it comes with various weights and grip sizes (which I already explained in my previous blog), allowing you to have a number of choices according to your game style. Yonex launched Nanoflare 270 speed are manufactured in 4U and 5U , weighing 83g and 78g on average respectively.
