Manaal Tariq's career

Manaal Tariq was born on 28th September, 1999 in Lahore, and has a qualification of BA. Manaal was only 14 when she started playing Badminton, and developed a passion for it, representing her school in matches.

After realising her ability to improve and the growing talent, Manaal decided to take her game to a different level. She started getting coaching in Defence Club by Coach Intikhab Akram.

The 1st professional tournament that she played was the National Junior Championship (U-16) at Abbottabad in 2016, where she represented Team Punjab and won a Gold medal. Manaal was also the U-16 National Champion in 2014, as well as in 2015 (WS & WD). At the 15th All Pakistan Aamir Rokhari Ranking Tournament, she was Runner's Up (Team event). The champion went on to become U-19 National champion in 2016, as well as in the next year (double crowned), which proved to be a huge benefit for her game career.

In 2018, Manaal travelled to Iran to participate in Iran Junior International Championship. She also reached the Pre-Quarter Finals of National Championship 2018, and played Women's doubles Semifinal in the National championship 2019. Manaal's first major upset was a straight set win in National Championship held in University Grounds against Saima Waqas.

However, just when everything was going  well, Manaal had to face a downfall in her career; she fractured her back as well as had to undergo a knee surgery. These are the turning points in the lives of athletes, which all fear. However, situations feel better when one is surrounded by strong supporters, as in the case of Manaal, her friends and family played a huge role in keeping her mentally grounded and kept her chin up.

Manaal's highest rank has been 8th (WS) and is currently on 26th spot. She aims to represent her country in Olympics one day, and highlight the talent of Pakistan on an International Level.

Review of Yonex Nanoflare 270 Speed

The Yonex Nanoflare 270 Speed is a product of Yonex's latest series, Nanoflare , which was released in the year 2019. A resilient yet flexible graphite material, Toraycar M40 and Super HMG provide matchless power and stability for maximum shuttle acceleration. Its Nanocell Neo frame shape provides you with a greater sweet spot, allowing you to have a better chance of middling the shot. In my opinion, what distinguishes this racket from other models of Yonex is that it comes with various weights and grip sizes (which I already explained in my previous blog), allowing you to have a number of choices according to your game style. Yonex launched Nanoflare 270 speed are manufactured in 4U and 5U , weighing 83g and 78g on average respectively. As you can see it is a light racket, so this may not be suitable for an attacking player, however it might be beneficial for defensive players, or those who like to rely on their flat drives. Furthermore, I would advise you to string yo...

Comeback of Nauman Sikander Mir

Nauman Sikander Mir, known as “Nomi” among his friends, was born on 27th july 1977 in Lahore. Nauman belonged to a family who already were national champions (his uncle and his aunt), but little did he know that he'd be known as one of them. He, just like any other child, did not know what badminton was. His uncle, Shakeel Hayat Mir , introduced him to badminton at the age of 11 and trained him under his supervision at LDA Sports Complex Samanabad Lahore in the early days of Nauman. In his early days he would just go to the court with his uncle, watching him and others play. However, as he started to grow up, his uncle focused more on training him. As soon as his uncle was satisfied with his training, he allowed him to participate in national junior (u-12) , where he shocked everyone by winning both boys doubles (with Waqas Ahmed) and boys singles titles. He continued to dominate in juniors at national  level by becoming u-14 and u-18 champion in both categories. ...
