Muteeb Sohail Dar

Muteeb Sohail Dar was born on 1st April 1996 in Jhelum. He studied at Bahria Foundation School Jhelum and has completed his Bachelors in Doctor of Physiotherapy from University of Lahore.

Muteeb started playing badminton at the age of 6. Initially he used to play at Zila Council Badminton Club under his Father, Sohail Waheed Dar. In his early days, he showed dominance at District level. The Rawalpindi board champion clinched the title of District Championship several times in U-11, U-14 and U-16 category.

In 2014, Muteeb moved to Lahore and started professional training under the supervision of Coach Nadeem Javed. After gaining professional assistance, he bagged a gold medal in his first provincial tournament: Punjab Youth Festival 2015.

He made his National debut in National Junior (U-19) Championship 2015, held at Karachi. He won a silver medal in Men's Doubles (with Talha Khalid), but lost in Men's singles Quarter Final. In 2017, Muteeb represented Team Punjab in Quaid-e-Azam Games and stood on the podium as the champion in Team event

The champion has also represented Pakistan Army on a number of occasions. However, after losing the Men's Singles 1st Round in All Pakistan Ranking tournament 2017 at Peshawar, he took the decision of resigning as Army's representative; he thought he wasn't capable of representing such a prestigious department. However, Muteeb's passion and willpower rose even higher, and he worked hard to recover from this defeat, making an even stronger comeback.

At National Championship 2018, Muteeb pulled out a major upset by beating a high ranked player, Anjum Bashir, in straight sets: 21-14, 21-09. Also, he did not let the current National champion, Murad Ali, win easily in the Quarter finals. Muteeb extended the match till decider. He also participated in 2018 Punjab Games and came out the gold medalist in Men's Doubles

Throughout his university life, he had been the captain of Badminton team and was crowned as the "Best athlete of UOL". Moreover, Muteeb's best National Ranking had been 13th (MS). He is currently at his best Men's doubles ranking i.e 6th (with Ammar Masood). He attained this spot with Talha Khalid too. Muteeb is currently the 25th best Men's Singles player of Pakistan.

In the beginning of his career, many were against his decision, including his class fellows and teachers. However, every person, no matter what field they are in, needs supporters who make the journey worthwhile. For Muteeb, his family and people like Dr.Usman Malik , Dr.Jaffar Raza, Coach Nadeem Javed, and few others always had his back through thick and thin.

Furthermore, his sponsor Flex Pro always provided great quality Badminton equipment to Muteeb and has been a great help. Muteeb is currently representing KRL, who has also backed him up with a lot of support.

Muteeb's passion for Badminton has also led him to start the first and only page in Pakistan promoting Badminton: Future Badminton Champions Of Pakistan. He aims to witness Badminton rise in Pakistan, and to see the hidden talents emerge, for which his page is the best platform.

Review of Yonex Nanoflare 270 Speed

The Yonex Nanoflare 270 Speed is a product of Yonex's latest series, Nanoflare , which was released in the year 2019. A resilient yet flexible graphite material, Toraycar M40 and Super HMG provide matchless power and stability for maximum shuttle acceleration. Its Nanocell Neo frame shape provides you with a greater sweet spot, allowing you to have a better chance of middling the shot. In my opinion, what distinguishes this racket from other models of Yonex is that it comes with various weights and grip sizes (which I already explained in my previous blog), allowing you to have a number of choices according to your game style. Yonex launched Nanoflare 270 speed are manufactured in 4U and 5U , weighing 83g and 78g on average respectively. As you can see it is a light racket, so this may not be suitable for an attacking player, however it might be beneficial for defensive players, or those who like to rely on their flat drives. Furthermore, I would advise you to string yo...

Comeback of Nauman Sikander Mir

Nauman Sikander Mir, known as “Nomi” among his friends, was born on 27th july 1977 in Lahore. Nauman belonged to a family who already were national champions (his uncle and his aunt), but little did he know that he'd be known as one of them. He, just like any other child, did not know what badminton was. His uncle, Shakeel Hayat Mir , introduced him to badminton at the age of 11 and trained him under his supervision at LDA Sports Complex Samanabad Lahore in the early days of Nauman. In his early days he would just go to the court with his uncle, watching him and others play. However, as he started to grow up, his uncle focused more on training him. As soon as his uncle was satisfied with his training, he allowed him to participate in national junior (u-12) , where he shocked everyone by winning both boys doubles (with Waqas Ahmed) and boys singles titles. He continued to dominate in juniors at national  level by becoming u-14 and u-18 champion in both categories. ...
