Muhammad Anas Akhtar

Muhammad Anas Akhtar was born on 15th May, 2001 in Lahore. He has completed his Foundation in IT from Asia Pacific University, and is currently doing A-Levels.

In February 2014, Anas started playing Badminton and he was only 13 years old at that time. As people noticed his talent and capability to take it on a higher level, Anas realised that he should start taking professional coaching. For that, he joined Defence Club and trained under the coaching of Sir Intikhab Akram

Through receiving this coaching, Anas' game improved a lot. He learnt new techniques, as well as strengthened his skills. In the same year (2014), Anas played his 1st Professional Tournament, i.e, U-14 Inter-Provincial Tournament 2014, in which he represented Team Punjab and bagged a Silver medal in Team Event. His major Badminton achievements are listed down below:

  • Under 14 Inter-Provincial tournament 2014 (Runners up in team event)

  • Punjab Olympics 2015 (Men's Singles Silver and Men's Doubles bronze)

  • 5th All Punjab Hafiz Ghulam Murtaza (U-16) tournament in Sargodha (Men's Singles gold)

  • Punjab Olympics 2016 (Gold in Men's Singles and Bronze in Men's Doubles)

  • City District Government Lahore (Silver in Team Event)

  • Punjab Olympics 2017 (Bronze in Men's Singles and Bronze in Men's Doubles)

  • Punjab Junior (U-18) Championship 2018 (Silver in Men's Doubles (with Muqsit Islam)

  • Segi Badminton Challenge Malaysia 2019 (Bronze in Men's Singles)

Throughout his Badminton career, Anas has received training from numerous coaches, including Coach Intikhab (Defence Club), Coach Ismail Saman (Petaling B.C Malaysia), Coach Syawal Ismail (Ampang Jaya B.C Malaysia), Coach Waqas Ahmed and Coach Atiq Chaudhry. All of them played a huge role in his Badminton career, and polished him into a professional Badminton player.

Things were going pretty well for the champion, when they took a turn in 2016; Anas had travelled to Malaysia for training at Ampang Jaya Badminton Club, but badly twisted his ankle while training. This injury saddened him, as it does to every player who is working hard to achieve his goals. Upon returning to Pakistan, Anas had to represent his school (The Lahore Alma) at the Punjab Olympics with a sprained ankle. However, his determination and passion led him to win Gold medal in Men's Singles and a Bronze in Men's Doubles. During his Foundation Degree at APU, he has also played 6 Malaysian Tournaments, representing his university.

His current and highest rank has been 37th in Men's Doubles (with Hayyan Uzair), and 54th (Highest in Men's Singles). Anas, throughout his game career, was surrounded by some people who supported his dreams and ambitions. This included his family members (Parents, Brother, Nauman Sikander) and friends (Abdullah Ijaz, Muteeb Sohail, and Ahmer Jalal).

In the future, Anas aims to perform at International Level and play a major role in promoting Badminton in Pakistan. For this purpose, Anas is also managing the page of Future Badminton Champions Of Pakistan (as an Admin) and will continue to do so.

Review of Yonex Nanoflare 270 Speed

The Yonex Nanoflare 270 Speed is a product of Yonex's latest series, Nanoflare , which was released in the year 2019. A resilient yet flexible graphite material, Toraycar M40 and Super HMG provide matchless power and stability for maximum shuttle acceleration. Its Nanocell Neo frame shape provides you with a greater sweet spot, allowing you to have a better chance of middling the shot. In my opinion, what distinguishes this racket from other models of Yonex is that it comes with various weights and grip sizes (which I already explained in my previous blog), allowing you to have a number of choices according to your game style. Yonex launched Nanoflare 270 speed are manufactured in 4U and 5U , weighing 83g and 78g on average respectively. As you can see it is a light racket, so this may not be suitable for an attacking player, however it might be beneficial for defensive players, or those who like to rely on their flat drives. Furthermore, I would advise you to string yo...
